Warburton Landscape Services Inc. takes pride in servicing high-end country properties in the beautiful rolling hills of Dufferin County. We are based near Orangeville, Ontario, one hour northwest of Toronto. We are a full service gardening outfit: design installation and maintenance.

In our gardens we use natural materials: stone dry laid for patios and retaining walls, cedar rounds and willow for structures. The gardens are plant centered and hand made. They often include food or fruit production. While naturalistic, our gardens are sophisticated in design and choice of plants. We also create stunning water features: streams, ponds and natural swimming pools. Plantings include foundation and herbaceous borders, kitchen gardens and orchards.

Experienced Garden Maintenance Crew Member – Full time

This position is full-time seasonal with a minimum of 40 hours per week from September to November. Supervised tasks may include weeding, dead-heading, forking, planting, edging, pruning, and general up-keep of client properties. Crews involve 2 – 3 members under the supervision of a crew leader. Our crews are highly professional in training and appearance and dedicated to our clients.

The ideal candidate for this position is enthusiastic about gardening as well as environmentally friendly practices.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of past gardening experience
  • Must be well organized and punctual
  • Able to work well with others and also function well independently
  • Must be able to follow direction
  • Some general knowledge of plant varieties
  • Physically strong and capable of kneeling, crouching, lifting, shoveling, raking, etc.
  • Candidate must have own means of transportation and possess a valid “G” license

Anticipated start date is March 14, 2016.

Landscape Construction Labourer – Full time

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years landscape construction experience
    Healthy, energetic, hard-working and on time
    Vehicle and valid driver’s license
    Operation of skid steer and mini-excavator an asset
    Experienced in all aspects of hardscape, i.e., base prep, flagstone and dry-laid walls an asset
    Knowledge of bed prep, tree and shrub planting, plant material and culture an asset
    Able and willing to work to a very high standard
    Able to take direction and work effectively on a team
    Excellent pay for the right attitude and experience

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Hard physical labour such as digging, picking, wheel barrowing
  • Lifting/carrying/moving/placing field stone and flagstone
  • Placing/planting plant material, including trees
  • Loading/unloading trucks with gravel, compost, soil, etc.

Start date for position is as soon as available after March 14, 2016
Compensation based on experience and is above industry average.
